Posted on August 27th, 2007 in internet, news by Ankit Duseja

Yahoo has removed the beta tag from their mail services. The Yahoo mail beta version was available on internet from September 2006. Yahoo have been testing up the new beta interface from long time and now its on the way of perfection. So Yahoo silently updated the interface this night.

Yahoo has continuously worked on Yahoo Mail to beat the competitors. Unlimited storage has been one of the most important feature to conquer the mail world. Also the launch of a text messaging will be a main plus point in getting Yahoo Mail on the top.

Some Plus (+) points that would help yahoo mail to lead the race are:

  • Unlimited Storage
  • A very cool look with six customizable colors.
  • Folder organizing
  • Integration of Yahoo Messenger
  • Messaging with Windows Live messenger
  • Spam Filtering
  • Integration of Yahoo Calendar
  • Integration of other yahoo services
  • Integrated RSS (feed) reader
  • Scanning of every file transacted on yahoo mail servers by Norton Anti-virus.

Still Yahoo is ranked on second place by popular reviewers after Gmail, because of lack of Free POP3 client feature & also the lack of Tagging system. Yahoo has POP3 feature but at a charge of 20$ per year. This gets a handful amount of income apart from advertisements. If they make POP3 mail free then this would cut off major part of their income. Still we expect that in order to lead the race Yahoo can make this service free of cost!
