The crazy guys at nullsoft are about to roll out the new version of winamp i.e. . Winamp will be celebrating its 10th anniversary next month. So nullsoft guys will get it out of beta on 10/10/2007 at 10:10am (Crazy!)

The interface looks like a hybrid of virtual dj & iTunes. The color scheme is like that of Atomix Virtual Dj & interface is a soft copy of iTunes.

Many new features have been added & now testing is going on. They are facing some problem to make it run properly on vista (Errrrr). Here is a quick list of features added to new version:

• Cool new interface
• Automatic Playlist generator
• MP3 surround playback support
• A custom Winamp browser toolbar with integrated Winamp playback controls [Not available in Beta release]
• Album Art view & support for iPod and P4S Devices
• 3 pane view options in ‘Add/Edit View’ dialog
• Many more…

Winamp was one of the leading players at a time, but its rating got done badly. It have been some time when AOL took over nullsoft guys but a major upgrade in the program is being released now. I think AOL is forcing the guys to make it again a leader in the market.
